Name: An Exhibition of Enigmatic Abstract Art by Stanley Miklose
    Date: May 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024
    Event Description:
We are pleased to host an exhibition of abstract art by Stanley Miklose for the entire month of May. His enigmatic art has been described as abstracts under a veil of constructionism reflecting his unique view of the world. Stanley's artistic journey is a testament to his profound connection with the creative realm, a path often overshadowed by his role, along with his wife Roseanne, as a driving force behind Down Home Foods, our wonderful local health food store. During his time at Arizona State University in the late 1960's he discovered the enchanting allure of artistic expression. It was here that he unearthed the seeds of his distinctive style that shaped his own artistic identity. Relocating to the vibrant atmosphere of Berkeley in the early 1970's served as a catalyst for Stanley's artistic evolution. Imbued with the spirit of the abstract expressionist movement, he found himself captivated by luminaries such as Peter Voulkos, whose influence left an indelible mark on his creative vision. Drawn to the works of Ellsworth Kelly, Jasper Johns, Piet Mondrian and Kandinsky, his journey was enriched by this diverse tapestry of artists. Throughout his journey, his dedication was to creating remained unwavering. His art was not a pursuit of fortune or fame but a quest for awareness of spirit. As Stanley's artwork assumes its rightful place at the forefront of the Highlight Gallery, viewers are invited to take in the fusion of his inspiration and creativity.
