Name: Music in the Gardens - Symphony of the Redwoods
    Date: June 29, 2025
    Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT
    Event Description:
Symphony of the Redwoods is presenting two world class acts at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden this summer. On Sunday, June 29th at 12 noon, virtuoso flatpicking guitarist Dan Crary will perform and at 3 PM, internationally recognized Kitka Women’s Vocal ensemble will take the stage. Each concert takes place at the large event lawn of the MCBG where there is ample space for all. Wine, tea, coffee, and cookies will be for sale benefiting Symphony of the Redwoods and Art Explorers. Dan Crary is a musical legend, a pioneer of one of the most intricate, yet powerful, forms of American music, and a master of the guitar: a flatpicking stylist with an international reputation for innovation, taste and brilliance. As he passes his 40th anniversary as a performer, Crary is one of the few artists whose work can be said to transcend boundaries of style and genre. It’s a journey to enjoy and remember. Inspired by the exquisite and unusual harmony traditions of Eastern Europe and Eurasia, Kitka has earned international recognition for their ravishing sound and unique repertoire. Kitka has collaborated with some of the world’s most exciting indigenous musicians and contemporary composers, ranging from Le Mystères des Voix Bulgares to Meredith Monk. This trailblazing ensemble’s wide-ranging performance, teaching, and recording activities have exposed millions to the haunting beauty of their unique repertoire. *These concerts are made possible in part by generous local sponsors. Please contact Symphony of the Redwoods for ways to support this and other live musical events on the coast.
