HarborView will be donating a portion of the proceeds from all breakfast, lunch and dinner sales that Monday back to the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association. You get to have an incredible meal while also supporting Mendocino's historic lighthouse. On August 7th of 1789, the new United States government created “The Lighthouse Act”, signed by President George Washington, which established the Lighthouse Service agency to build and maintain lighthouses along the new country’s shores. On the same date in 1989, 200 years later, National Lighthouse Day was turned into a national holiday on August 7th, with a proclamation signed by President George H. W. Bush.
