    Name: Paul Bunyan Days
    Date: August 31, 2018 - September 3, 2018
    Event Description:
Paul Bunyan Days is right around the corner! Imagine, 79 years of lumberjack rowdy, family-friendly fun. Labor Day weekend in Fort Bragg always means Paul Bunyan Days, the oldest small-town celebration on the Mendocino Coast. This year the theme is: Regards to Broadway from Paul and Babe. Named after the larger than life logger and his giant blue ox, the festival celebrates the history of the community and pays tribute to the strength of the people who live here. Every year is bigger than the one before and this year is no exception - 4 days of 30 free, or almost-free events. There are so many entertaining things to do that Fort Bragg can’t hold them all – they’re spilling over north and south of town! Look at this line up: Labor Day Parade, Kiddie Parade, Logging Show, Ugly Dog (and more) Contests, Old Fashion Dress Review, Kiddie Games, Tricycle Races, Belle of the Redwoods, a Bird Walk, Walk with Paul Bunyan, Book Sale, Craft Fair, Gem & Mineral Show, Car Show, Fireman’s Ball, Fireman’s Water Fight, Flynn Creek Circus, Footlighter’s Gaslight Gaieties, Historic Model Trains, Horseshoe Contest, Kangaroo Kort, BBQ, Lumberjack Breakfast, Log Rolling Contest, Open Studio Tour, Beer / Bison & Bluegrass, Pie Sale, Roots of Motive Power Steam Engines, Steam Donkey Fun Run/Walk, and Blue Whale Bones! The Paul Bunyan Days Association (PBDA) organizes it, PBDA and other organizations host events and hundreds of volunteers make it happen. The City of Fort Bragg and lots of community businesses and individuals sponsor it with cash, services and in-kind donations. As usual, Paul Bunyan will host the festival live and in person. He’ll be everywhere – at the action-packed contests, parades, reviews, shows and fairs. He’ll also crown the Belle of the Redwoods and make certain Kangaroo Kort doesn’t get too rowdy.
