Symphony of the Redwoods January Concert
Name: Symphony of the Redwoods January ConcertDate: January 29, 2023Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM PSTEvent Description:Symphony of the Redwoods launches into 2023 with a concert on Saturday, January 28 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 29 at 2:00 pm at Cotton Auditorium in Fort Bragg. This concert will feature auditioning conductor, Ryan Murray. The program opens with Ballade in A Minor, Opus 33 by Samuel Coleridge Taylor. The piece is a romantic example of the composer’s early style. Next is the Concerto in E Minor by Edward Elgar featuring Adelle-Akiko Kearns on the cello. Ms. Kearns is a highly in demand performer who exhibits “beautifully sensuous cello playing.” The concert finishes with Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 43 by Jean Sibelius. Full of grand, heroic melodies, the Symphony paints magnificent pictures of the rugged Finnish landscape.
